Heartbreaking Loss times Two

If this doesn't break your heart: two little boys dying within days of each other. Their parents had this lovely double tombstone made for their graves.

Samuel J. M. Green
born Sept. 30, 1875
died July 19, 1879

James A. Green
born Aug. 21, 1877
died July 22, 1879

Little Samuel and James lived with their parents, James and Louisa Allen Green, in the Orwood community of southwestern Lafayette County.

  1. Mona,
I came upon your site while looking for a photo of the statue of W.C. Falkner. I'm very impressed and moved by your work here. Thank you for posting this information and doing so in such a good way.

  2. What a very nice thing to say, and I appreciate it very much. Please stop by again. The postings have been infrequent due to a busy time at work and other responsibilities, but hopefully things will pick up later in the spring. Thank you for your comments.

  3. Mona,

I am Mike Hill, of Nashville, TN, who is a descendant of "David Robertson/Robinson" who died in Franklin Co., TN in 1821. I agree that this "old" David's brother was likely the Matthew Robinson who served in the Revolution, etc. I would enjoy communicating with you if you have any further leads on this family back in time. 4. Say now that you are not happy I have your body, but not your heart. You don't need to lie, you still want him to curse you with him as long as you're happy
